Community Meeting: Street Crime Increase

Over the last several weeks, more than a dozen residents of Prospect Heights have been victims of robbery for their iphones, laptops and wallets. All of the crimes have occurred on the street or in local cafes, some at knife or gunpoint, and most of them in the afternoon. A number of the robberies have been surprisingly brazen - with the perpetrators entering cafes to snatch away laptops right out of the hands of their owners.

Deputy Inspector James Capocci, the Commanding Officer of the 77th Precinct, will be there to discuss police response and what steps the community can take to protect itself.
