If you didn't want to schlep all the way from Prospect Heights to Rockafeller Center for their Christmas tree lighting, there's a much closer option coming up this week.
On Thursday, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and his staff put on their own Christmas tree lighting right in Downtown Brooklyn. (Plus you get the signature Marty charm.)
All are welcome to witness lighting of the tree, donated by the Brooklyn Terminal Market Association and installed and decorated by the Department of Parks and Recreation.
Holiday refreshments will be served and musical performances will take place.
The lighting will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6 at Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza at 209 Joralemon St.
