Citing Centrist Platform, 3 Democratic Clubs Quit Quinn

Quinn said to be 'livid' at the loss of support from three Democratic clubs.

New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Christine Quinn has lost the backing of three Democratic clubs, one of which is in her own district, reported the New York Post.   

The Village Independent Democrats, located in the heart of Quinn’s district, has decided to back the more left-leaning John Liu, along with The Broadway Democrats and Coalition for a Democratic Alternative (CoDA), because, the clubs claim she’s become too centrist as City Council Speaker.   

A source close to the Village Independent Democrats said Quinn’s ground game is “off,” and that Quinn was “livid” over losing that group.
