Woman Held-Up on St. Johns Place

Man in ski mask makes off with backpack and phone after jabbing her in back with a gun-like object.

A 25-year-old woman was robbed by a ski-masked man who jabbed something into her back that felt like a gun, according to a police report.

The woman was walking on St. Johns Place between Bedford and Franklin avenues at 12:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, when the man came up to her from behind.

He jabbed the gun-like object into her back and told her to hand over her backpack and money. After she handed over the goods, the man ran off. In addition to the backpack, the woman was out several credit cards and an iphone, but there was no cash in the backpack, according to the report.

There have a string of strong-arm muggings in the neighborhood since Thanksgiving.
