Teenage Girls Beat Up 55-Year-Old Man: Reports from the 77th Precinct

Plus a speedy bike thief pounces, an iPhone snatch and a health club locker room theft.

Girls Assault Man on Subway

A pair of teenage girls are charged with beating up a 55-year-old man on a northbound No. 3 train on Jan 24.

The man said he was on the train heading towards the Franklin Avenue station when he got into an argument with the girls. The pair then punched him repeatedly in the head and face leaving him a black eye and other bruises.

The girls, aged 17 and 18, were arrested at 1:11 p.m. at the Franklin Avenue subway station. The report did not indicate the cause of the argument.

 

Speedy Bike Thief

In early January one or more bike thieves pounced upon two pricy bicycles minutes after they had been locked on the street.

A 21-year-old woman said she left her Devinci racing bike locked on Bergen Street at the Corner of Grand at 8 a.m. on Jan. 8 and when she came back 30 minutes later, the bike was stripped of its handlebars, stem and seat, worth a total of $700.

Then, the next day, someone stole a 19-year-old woman’s motorized bike worth $850, after she left it padlocked for 10 minutes on Franklin Avenue between St. Marks and Prospect between 8:30 p.m.  and 8:40 p.m.

 

Franklin Avenue iPhone Snatch

A 31-year-old woman was walking on Franklin Avenue bet St. Marks and Prospect talking on her iPhone when a man ran up behind her, grabbed it, and ran off. The theft took place on Jan. 15 at about 8 p.m.

 

Another Clunker Stolen

A 26-year-old man reported that some stole his Chevy from Prospect Place at Classon Avenue sometime on Jan. 20 or Jan. 21. The report did not include the model or year of the car, but reported it was worth $4,500.

On Dec. 4, someone stole a 1997 Ford Expedition Suburban, worth about $3,000, from Dean Street between Vanderbilt and Underhill.

 

Crunch Gym Wallet Theft

A crook stole a man’s wallet from a locker inside a Flatbush Avenue gym.

The 33-year-old victim told police that he was in Crunch, between Park and Sterling places on Jan. 26. when the theft occurred. At about 6:45 p.m., he left his wallet inside his right pants pocket, which he hung up in his locker, but he left the locker unlocked while he worked out. When he returned to the locker room at around 8 p.m., his wallet was gone. The crook got away with his debit card, 30-day Metrocard, social security card and $40 in cash.
