Police Blotter: Victim Chases Down iPhone Thief, Park Place Assault and Purse Snatch, More

Victim and Witnesses Chase Down iPhone Snatcher

A 36-year-old woman and two witnesses were able to chase down and detain a teen who tried to steal the woman's iPhone until cops could arrive.

The woman was walking home from the subway station on the evening of Wednesday, July 20, talking on the phone when a 14-year-old tried to snatch it at the corner of Underhill Avenue and Sterling Pl. The teen was arrested and the woman got the phone back.

Purse Snatch and Assault on Park Place

A 33-year-old woman was walking home on the evening of Tuesday, July 19 when, on Park Place between Carlton and Vanderbilt, a 43-year-old man hit the woman in her face, pushed her to the ground, and dragged her while trying to take her purse. Cops searched the area and found a man who the woman identified as the thief and the man was arrested. 

 

Burglary on Prospect Place

A 39-year-old woman's apartment on Prospect Place between Underhill and Washington was broken-into in the early morning hours of July 23. A total of $2050 worth of items were taken including two laptops totaling $1400 and two iPhones totaling $700. 

 

Man Cut with Knife by Friend on Pacific Street

A 39-year-old man was arguing with his friend inside the hallway of an apartment building on Pacific street between Grand and Classon on the evening of Monday, July 18.  As the argument escalated, the acquaintance cut the victim on the thumb. The attacker fled and so far no arrests have been made.
