Police Blotter: St. Johns Place Baseball Bat Attack

St. Johns Place Baseball Bat Attack 

A 42-year-old man was walking on St. Johns place between Classon and Washington avenues on June 6 when a man he knew came up from behind him, said “This is for 20 years ago (expletive),” and hit the man in the head with a metal baseball bat. The victim told police the attacker “had a beef with me 20 years ago over a shooting.” After hitting the victim the attacker jumped into a car and drove off. The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital with head injuries, according to a police report.  wahington Avenue and jump into a car to unkpnwn direction. Park Place Phone Snatch

Someone snatched a cell phone out of the hand of a 19-year-old woman  on Park Place near Franklin at 9:08 p.m. on June 9, according to a police report. Learn how to install a tracking device on your iPhone.

 

Airbag and Hubcap Theft

 A 50-year-old man reported that someone stole an air bag and the hubcaps from his GMC worth a total of $1,524. The vehicle was parked on Park Place between Vanderbilt and Underhill avenues and the theft took place between 9:30 p.m. on June 7 and 9:30 a.m the next day, according to a police report.

$3,500 Bank Account Theft

A 32-yearold woman reported that someone withdrew a total of $3,500 from her bank account from two different Chase Bank locations. The thief tried to remove money from a third location using a Connecticut driver’s license with the victim’s name on it, but was turned away. The withdrawals took place on June 6 between 11:35 a.m. and 1:42 p.m. , according to a police report.

 

Pants Theft

A 35-year-old woman reported that someone stole a package of true religion pants worth $358 from the common hallway of a building om Eastern Parkway between Underhill and Washington sometime between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on June 9 The pants had been left for the woman by a friend, according to a police report.
