Teen Arrested in Wallet Snatch

 A 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with stealing a woman’s wallet in broad daylight Thursday.

The 28-year-old woman was walking on Vanderbilt Avenue at about 11:45 a.m. when, she said, the teen grabbed the wallet out of her hand and bolted. He didn’t go far though – cops spotted him nearby and arrested him. The $60 wallet was recovered but the $56 in cash was gone, according to a police report.

Wallet Stolen at Soda Bar

A 35-year-old woman had her wallet taken right out of her purse at  last Monday.

The woman was at the bar, located at 629 Vanderbilt Ave., on June 6 when, at about 10:30 p.m., a woman reached into a purse and took out her wallet. According to the woman, there was $200 cash and credit cards in the wallet. But the big loss was the wallet itself, which, the woman said, was worth $500, according to a police report.

 

Big-Ticket Shoplifing

If you thought the shoplifting attempt of was bold, get a load of this: a thief wheeled a $500 bike right out of the shop, according to police report.

An employee at , at 560 Vanderbilt Ave. at Bergen, said the store got extremely crowded at about 7:45 p.m. yesterday, June 13. He couldn’t keep his eye on everyone, and when the crowd cleared, he saw that a “Torker Graduate worth $500 was gone, according to a police report.

 

 

Pricy Bike Wheel Stolen

It’s not enough to chain up your bike – make sure you secure the wheels as well.

That’s what one man found out after he left his bike chained on Dean Street between Sixth Avenue and Vanderbilt yesterday while visiting his daughter yesterday. He left the bike there at about 8 a.m. When he got back at about 7 p.m., a wheel, a 26-inch Raligh Meo that he said was worth $160, was gone, according to a police report.
