Mid-Afternoon Subway Station Attack

A group of teens attacked a 15-year-old boy in a subway station, stealing his money and leaving him with bruises, a bloody nose, and a death threat.

The victim said he was waiting for the train at the Eastern Parkway Station at 2:40 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 when four teens he didn’t know came up to him. One of them asked the group if anyone knew the victim and then slugged him. Then one of the teens told him to empty his pockets and took about $36. Before leaving one of the attackers said, “If you tell anyone, I will kill you.”

A 15-year-old was was arrested on April 3, less than an hour after the victim reported the crime, and charged with assault, according to a police report. 

 

Girl Jumped Outside of School

A group of teens attacked a 15-year-old girl was jumped as she was leaving Acorn High School, leaving her with a swollen lip and scratches on her face. The girl told police she didn’t know her three-to-four attackers or have any idea why she was targeted. The attack happened at 2:15 p.m. on Monday, April 2 just outside of the school at Grand Avenue and Bergen Street.

 

St. Marks Avenue Burglary

Someone broke into an apartment on St. Marks Avenue between Classon and Franklin avenues and made off with two Apple Macbooks worth $3,100. The thief came through the front door by breaking the lock sometime between 8:15 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. on Monday, April 2, the 24-year-old resident said.  

 

Double Bicycle Theft 

Two bicycles were stolen from the basement of a Washington Avenue apartment building. The theft took place sometime between March 28 and April 2 from a building between Sterling and St. Johns Place. Stolen was a red Schwinn worth $180 and a blue track bike that a 27-year-old man said he built himself and valued at $1,950. There was no forced entry into the basement, according to the report.
