Police Blotter: $252 Condom and Sunglasses Theft

$252 Condom and Sunglasses Theft

A 52-Year-Old man was charged with shoplifting $252 worth of Trojan condoms, sunglasses and Jerkins Ultra Heat lotion.

The theft took place at Rite Aid Pharmacy, 1040 St. Johns Place between Brooklyn and Kingston avenues on June 18 at 6:06 p.m. The store security guard told police he saw the man swipe the items and and detained him until cops arrived, according to a police report.

 

$1,700 Bike Swipe

A 40-year-old man reported that someone stole his Bianchi Camaleonte 4 bicycle worth $1,700 from the garage of his Bergen Street apartment building. The theft took place at the building, located between Grand and Classon avenues, sometime between June 12 and June 17, according to a police report. The report did not indicate whether the bicycle was locked.

 

Marijuana Arrest

A 41-year-old man was charged with possessing marijuana in public view after a cop spotted the man with the pot on Lincoln Place between Classon and Franklin on June 22 at 2:08 p.m. Back at the station, cops discovered that the man had two open arrest warrants.

 

Gun Arrest

 A 19-year-old man was arrested after a cop saw him in possession with a .25 caliber Heritage firearm on June 24 at 2:05 a.m. on Bergen Street between Classon and Franklin avenues.

 

Park Place Car Break-In

A couple reports that they saw a thief make off with two bags from their Acura after they left it parked near the corner of Park Place and Carlton Avenue. The couple left the car there to shop on Flatbush Avenue, and when they returned, they saw a man running up Park Place with one of the bags. When they got to the car, they saw that a window was shattered and two bags missing: a Coach purse and a backpack with a pricy digital camera, according to a police report.
