Police Blotter: Man Charged With Endangering a 5-Month Old

Woman Gets Phone Back After Washington Avenue Snatch

A 28-year-old woman was texting on her phone while walking on Washington Avenue on June 18 when a man biked up behind her and asked her the time. As she began to look, the man grabbed her iPhone and rode away, according to a police report.

However, the woman had two phone tracking applications installed, iCloud and Find My Phone, and cops were able to trace the phone to a location on Carroll Street between Franklin and Washington avenues, according to the report. Click here for step-by-step instructions for .  

 

Man Charged With Endangering a 5-Month Old 

A 25-year-old man was charged with child endangerment after a 34-year-old woman who was in a relationship with the man reported that he threw vases cups and glasses at her while a 5-month-old child was in the room, according to a police report.

The man is also charged with taking out a knife with an 8-inch blade and stabbing the door. The incident took place at 6:45 p.m. on June 19 and the man was arrested at 8:10 p.m. the same day. The man was also charged with Assualt 2 and 1 because one of the glasses hit the victim, cutting her back.

 

Playground Vandalism

Someone pulled the door off its hinges and also damaged the metal divide inside in the men’s restroom at Stroud Playground, next to P.S. 316 on Park Place between Classon and Grand avenues. The vandalism was discovered at 4:15 p.m. on June 27, the last day of school, according to a police report.

 

2 Drivers Flee Accidents

There were two accidents in two days in which the driver drove off instead of waiting for police, according to police reports.

In the first incident, a 47-year-old man said he was driving westbound on Eastern Parkway when he was rear ended by a driver who drove off. The accident took place near the intersection of Franklin Avenue on June 19 at 1:50 p.m.

In the second incident, a 55-year-old man was driving northbound on Underhill Avenue at 11:35 a.m. on June 20, when, at Dean Street, a car hit him from behind and drove off.
