Police Blotter: Gucci Belt Mugging, Daytime iPhone Snatch, More

Gucci Belt Mugging

A 17-year-old boy was mugged by six teens, one of whom was carrying a metal pipe, on June 20.

The teen was walking toward the LIRR at the Atlantic Terminal at 1:45 a.m., when, at the corner of Dean Street and Classon Avenue, six teens surrounded him.

The teen with the metal pipe then said, “Give me everything you have and if you say anything we will shoot you. Then another man hit him in the mouth with his elbow, cutting the boy’s lip.

The teen handed over his cell phone, iTouch, a Gucci belt worth $279 and his wallet, which contained his LIRR monthly pass, a learner’s permit and a debit card an the group fled, according to a police report.

 

Daytime iPhone Snatch

 A thief snatched a 22-year-old woman’s iPhone as she was walking home on June 14.

The woman was walking on Eastern Parkway at about 4:45 p.m. when, at the corner of Classon, someone grabbed her phone and fled, according to a police report.

 

Backyard Hose Theft

A 57-year-old woman reported that someone stole a wagon and a garden hose from the backyard of her home, located on Bergen Street between Bergen and Underhill, sometime overnight between June 15 and 16, according to a police report.

 

2 Car Break-Ins

There were at least two car break-ins this week:

  • A car parked on Park Place between Classon and Franklin avenues was broken into sometime between 10:30 p.m. on June 13 and 7:30 p.m. the next day and a GPS device, EZ pass, Sirius raido unit, cassette player and registration were taken. In return, the thief left his screwdriver in the car, according to a police report.
  • A car parked on Pacific Street between Grand and Classon avenues was broken into sometime between 10 p.m. on June 15 and the same time the next day and a backpack and a hat were taken, according to a police report.
