Police Blotter: Dad Stabbed in Home While Playing With Kids, $12,000 Motorcycle Theft, More

Dad Stabbed While Playing With Kids

A man was arrested after he broke through the front window of a Sterling Place apartment and stabbed a man in the stomach three times.

The 42-year-old father had been playing with his kids in the apartment, located between Underhill and Washington, when the June 28 break-in occurred. The man was taken to Kings County Hospital. Police said the men did not know each other.

Man Punched While Walking to Store

A 28-year0old man was walking to the store at the corner of Bergen Street and Franklin Avenue when, at about noon on June 27, a 40 year old man came up to him when, and punched him. The younger man was treated at Interfaith Hospital. The older man was arrested and charged with third degree assault, according to a police report. The report did not indicate if the two men knew each other.

 

$12,000 Motorcycle Stolen 

A 28-year-old man reported that his motorcycle was stolen from where he parked it on Classon Avenue between Park and Prospect sometime between 9 a.m. an 11:20 a.m. on June 27. The man said the motorcycle, a 2010 Honda, was worth $12,000.

 

Car Break-Ins:

There were at least two car break-ins last week:

A thief broke the passenger door lock of a car parked at the northeast corner of Atlantic Avenue and Classon Avenue sometime between 2 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. on June 27. Taken were a social security card, a binder and other papers.  

A 2004 Nissan Murano parked on Bergen Street between Classon and Franklin was broken into sometime between 3 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on June 28. The driver's side window was smashed and $2350 worth of electronics, car parts and other items were taken including the car's front headlights, worth $400, a $1600 laptop, a $100 Tom Tom GPS, and $100 hard drive, and a $150 pair of designer eyeglasses.
