Police Blotter: Cab Hits Motorcycle on Eastern Parkway

Plus a burglary on Bergen Street and more.

Motorcyclist Hit By Cab on Eastern Parkway

A 26-year-old man was stopped in traffic on Eastern Parkway when a yellow cab rear-ended his motorcycle, throwing him to the ground. The cab driver got out, made sure the victim wasn't injured and then got back in his cab and drove off without exchanging his information with the victim. The victim was uninjured.

The collision took place on May 28 shortly before midnight at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Underhill. 


Bergen Street Burglary

A 44-year-old woman reported that someone burglarized her apartment, making off with about $1,133 in goods including a money order of unspecified value, $257 in cash, a pair of earrings and a gold necklace. When the woman got home the door was unlocked and there was no forcible entry.

The crime took place on Bergen Street between Classon and Grand on June 1 between about 1:30 and 11 p.m. 


Pickup Stolen

Someone stole a 2008 Ford Econoline E250 Pickup truck that was parked on Dean Street between Classon and Grand on May 22 or 23.   


Bike Taken

A 31-year-old woman reported that someone stole her $400 Cannondale Hybrid bike from the basement storage area of her building sometime between May 12 and 22. The storage area is locked, with the tenants in the 8-unit building each having a key. The building is located on Sterling Place between Underhill and Washington.
