Police Blotter: $7,500 Pickpocketing, Dean Street Mugging, More

Woman Loses $7,500 in Pickpocketing

A 57-year-old woman had $7,500 stolen after she made a withdrawal from her local bank on the afternoon of July 21. On the corner of Washington Avenue and Lincoln Place a woman in her 40s came up to her and asked directions. Another woman in her 50s came and stood next to the victim. As the thieves walked away, the victim realized she had been pickpocketed.

Man Robbed on Dean Street

A 32-year-old man was robbed on Dean Street between Nostrand and New York avenue on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 19. The thief made a motion as if he had a gun and took the man's wallet, iPod, metrocard and money totalling $252. The man was caught and arrested two days later.

 

Car Theft

A 2006 Black Honda Civic was stolen as it sat parked on Lincoln Place between Washington and Underhill on the night of July 18.  

 

Car Break-In

A 2002 white Ford E-150 was broken into as it was parked on Prospect Place between Carlton and Vanderbilt on the evening of July 20. The driver's side window was broken and several items, worth a total of $600, were taken including a Kenwood radio and a wallet with a driver's license, social security card and green card.
