New Details About Sexual Assaults Near BAM

Police revealed more about the man suspected in three sexual assaults near the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

New details have emerged about the fiend suspected of since January, including that he is “well-dressed” when carrying out his depraved crimes.

Cops say that the perp was wearing a dark pea coat during the attacks — two of which occurred near .

“If you walk home late at night you have to be cognizant of your surroundings” Lieutenant Russell Burghard said to locals at a meeting of the 88th Precinct Community Council on Tuesday. “This is a well-dressed, clean-shaven guy, so when you’re walking and you look behind and see him getting closer and closer you’re not worried.”

He added that two of the three victims reported smelling alcohol on the perp’s breath, leading police to canvass local liquor stores and bars.

The perp’s physical description has not been altered, but cops have released an updated sketch of him. The suspect is believed to be between 30 and 35 years old with sandy hair. He is approximately 6 feet tall.

Police say that the creep first struck in Bensonhurst on Jan. 9. His 28-year-old victim said that she was at New Utrecht Avenue and 63rd Street at around 2 a.m. when the creep pushed her against a fence, slapped her in the face and exposed himself. During the incident the suspect attempted to remove the victim's underwear, according to cops. The victim reportedly fought off the suspect and fled the scene uninjured.

Then the brute moved to Fort Greene.

On Jan. 19, a 25-year-old victim told cops she was  at around 1:30 a.m. when a man grabbed her from behind and tried to rip off her clothing. 

The woman screamed, and the man fled. The woman wasn't injured, cops said.

The third incident went down on Jan. 26. , the victim told cops she was at Fulton and Cumberland streets at around 1:15 a.m. when the man snuck up from behind, threw her up against a fence and said, “Don’t fight it, enjoy it.” He then forced his hand up her skirt and groped her. A witness in a nearby house cried for help, forcing the suspect to flee.

Councilwoman Letitia James said she is pressing the city to increase sidewalk lighting and is also examining the possibility of installing more security cameras around the neighborhood.
