Cops: Brooklyn Woman Murdered Housemate, Spread…

Man Shot on St. Johns Place

The 18-year-old was shot early Sunday morning on St. Johns Place between Washington and Classon avenues.

On Sunday at 1:35 a.m., a man shot an 18-year-old hip, an NYPD spokesman said.

The victim, who was gunned down while standing between Washington and Classon avenues, was taken to New York Methodist Hospital.

The NYPD are now looking for the suspected shooter, who was described as a black male wearing a blue shirt and khaki shorts, police said.

Correction, June 25, 4:10 p.m.: An NYPD spokeswoman said that the teen was grazed in the hip, not the leg. In addition, police could not confirm the direction the suspect was seen running. The story above has been corrected and the direction the suspect fled removed.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto Crime Stoppers' website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting their tips to CRIMES (274637), then enter TIP577. All calls are strictly confidential.

Washington Ave doesn't run east/west...did he flee west on St Johns? The cops need to step up patrols around the east side of Washington/St Johns...it's becoming an obvious drug spot and with it comes violence and danger for innocent bystanders. Two shootings (one deadly) and a bat attack in just a couple months! Not good.

James, you are absolutely right. I checked back with the NYPD and they couldn't verify what direction the suspect ran so I removed that information. Thanks for the catch! -Amy
