UPDATE: Man Hit By 4 Train at Utica Avenue Station

Victim struck as he leaned over the platform.

Update, 9:49 p.m. March 19: The victim was a 23-year-old man who suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his head, a police spokesman said.

 

A man was hit by a Manhattan-bound 4 train Saturday morning at the Utica Avenue station, officials said.

The man was leaning over the platform looking for the train in the wrong direction as the train pulled into the station just before 10:15 am, according to an MTA spokeswoman. 

One of the employees said there was "blood all over the platform."

The man, whose name was not released by authorities, was rushed to Kings County Hospital, according to cops.

He was alive when he was taken to the hospital, said an MTA spokeswoman. She did what his current condition is.

Subway service at the station has returned to normal.
