Police Blotter: Homicide, Shootings, Assault and More

A round-up of crime from the 77th Precinct

The following information was supplied by the 77th Precinct of the NYPD. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Eastern Parkway Robbery

A brazen thief attacked and robbed a 44-year-old man as he was walking along Eastern Pkwy. towards Nostrand Ave. at 6:00pm on September 5.  The victim was struck from behind with an unknown object, causing injuries to his head. The unknown thief took off with items totaling $380, including $220 for a Sprint cell phone and $160 in cash.

Assault

A 25-year-old woman was arguing with with another woman on Eastern Pkwy. by Washington Ave. around 7:00pm on September 5. The unidentified woman hit the victim in the face with a glass bottle, causing cuts and bruises. After the police canvassed the area, a 26- year-old woman was arrested a few hours after the incident.

 

Double Shooting, Homicide

A 35-year-old man was shot in an apparent shootout on Park Pl. and Franklin Ave. around 9:00pm on September 5.  The victim suffered gun shot wounds to both the arm and stomach.  Leroy Webster, 32, is wanted in connection with the shooting. Webster also suffered several gunshot wounds.  A 29-year-old male was fatally shot by Webster. A 56-year-old woman was also shot, resulting in her death.

 

Grand Theft Auto

A 40-year-old man and his friend parked their car on Prospect Pl. and Classon Ave. Upon returning to the blue 2002 Kia Spectra four-door sedan, they found the vehicle gone. The owner owed no tickets and also contacted the DOT to see if the car was impounded. A canvass of the area brought no results. Items totaling $2672 were in the vehicle including a $220 Blackberry, $200 in tiles, not including the car's blue book value of $2000.
