Cops Make Spate of Marijuana Arrests

Six arrested over five days within a three-block radius.

Six people were arrested on charges of marijuana possession over five days in the Classon Avenue area, according to arrest reports from the 77th Precinct.

On Monday, Oct. 24, a 38-year-old man was arrested on Pacific Street between Classon and Grand on Monday Oct. 24 at 8:40 p.m. 

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, a 49-year-old man was arrested on Bergen Street between Classon and Franklin at 10 a.m and two men, one 45 and one 29 were arrested  on block over on St. Marks Avenue 11:32 a.m.

On Friday there were also several arrests: a 36-year-old man was arrested on Pacific Street between Classon and Franklin at 6:35 p.m. and a 27-year-old man was arrested on the corner of Pacific Street and Classon Avenue at 6:45 p.m.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly issued an order in September telling officers to stop arresting people whom they discover have concealed marijuana, but in all these cases, the marijuana was in public view and in most cases the men were smoking it, according to the reports.
