Cop Blotter: Woman Attacked on Grand Avenue

Woman Grabbed on Grand Avenue

A 23-year-old woman was repeatedly punched in face on Grand Avenue, according to a police report.

The woman was walking near Pacific Street at about 1:20 a.m. on Monday, August 6, when a man came up to her from behind, put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her to the ground.

He said, “don’t scream” and began punching the woman above her left eye. The woman screamed and someone called 911. The man fled before cops arrived. The woman suffered bruises and bleeding to the face, according to the report.

 

Purse Switch

A woman reported that her handbag was “removed from her and replaced with an empty purse” at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31 at on Franklin Avenue between St. Johns and Lincoln places. Inside the purse were the woman’s keys, cellphone and wallet with credit cards, $20 and her driver’s license, according to a police report.

 

Dean Street Playground Thefts

Two teens reported that items they left at the side of the field at during a ball game were stolen. A 15-year-old boy said someone took his bag containing a blackberry and a baseball, and a 16-year-old boy reported that someone took his iPod Touch and Android phone. The teens discovered the thefts around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, according to a police report.

 

Car Break-In and License Plate Theft

A 28-year-old man reported that someone stole the license plate from his 2004 Toyota RAV-4 hatchback along with a portable car battery charge and spare tire. The theft took place while the SUV was parked on Pacific Street between Grand and Classon on Monday, July 30 between 12:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m., according to a police report.
