Thieves Nab $15,000 in Copper Piping From Construction Site

Brazen daytime theft is the third area construction-site burglary this spring.

About $15,000 in copper piping was taken from a construction site by two brazen thieves last week.

The men—one tall, one short and plump and both about 35 years old—went to the site, located on Bergen Street between Grand and Classon avenues, at about 11:30 a.m. on June 7, and loaded up their Ford Mustang, according to a police report.

As they were leaving, the short man turned to one of the construction workers and said, “I see your face. If you call the police, I know your face,” according to the report.
