Grand Army Plaza Hit-and-Run and Poop Payback: Police Blotter

Plus an Eastern Parkway burglary. a Bergen Street bike theft and a $2,185 bag swipe.

Grand Army Plaza Hit and Run

A 66-year-old woman taken to Methodist Hospital for treatment after she was hit by a car that kept going on Grand Army Plaza in mid May. 

The woman was at the corner of Eastern Parkway and Plaza Street East on May 12 at about 7 p.m. when the accident took place. The report did not indicate how badly the woman was injured.


Poop Payback?

A 59-year-old woman reported that someone defecated  in front of her apartment door. She told police she suspects a neighbor in the building with whom she's in a dispute. 

The woman discovered the message at about 1:30 a.m. on May 18.


$2,185 Bag-Swipe Jackpot

A 24-year-old woman reported that someone stole her bag, holding $2,185 worth of electronics, after she a left the bag unattended at the bar Franklin Park, on Park Place at Franklin Avenue, at about midnight on May 18. The take included an IBM ThinkPad laptop, and a wallet. 


Eastern Parkway Burglary


A 30-year-old woman reported that someone stole $725 in electronics from her Eastern Parkway apartment including a laptop, a Canon DSL camera and a canon Powershot camera.

The burglary took place between May 6 and 7 at the building, located between Underhill and Washington avenues. 
It is not clear how the theif got in: all the windows and front door were locked and there were no signs of forced entry. 


Pricy Bike Theft


A 53-year-old man  reported that someone stole his $600 folding bicycle from the hallway of his Bergen Street building, located between Underhill and Washington, overnight between May 17 and 18. The report did not say  whether the bike was locked.
