Prospect Heights has two National Night Outs on Tuesday. Here's how to choose.

Give neighborhood crime a going away party* at National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6.

Now that Prospect Heights is split between two precincts due to the arrival of the Barclays Center, we have the excitement of choosing between (or hey, attending) not one but two excellent events.

Both events will educate the public about crime prevention measures and allow cops, residents and elected officials to get to know each other in a convivial setting, but each event has its own offerings as well. Here are the details, so you can make an informed decision:

Grand Army Plaza Bash

Where: Grand Army Plaza

When: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: Rock climbing wall, free cotton candy (straight from those machines) hot dogs (straight from the carts), live music, a demonstration by Brasil Centro Cultural de Capoeira, childrens entertainment, clowns, face painting, balloons and antique cars.

Brower Park Bash

Where: Brower Park, Kingston Avenue at the corner of Park Place

When: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

Why Go: Free barbecue, performances by the despairs steel band, a double dutch exhibition, drummers, steppers, jazz, a fashion show and a health fair.
