Bank Robbed on Washington Avenue

Thief makes off with cash after passing note to teller at Capital One.

 

A lone robber held up the Capital One Bank on Washington Avenue between Eastern Parkway and Lincoln Place, making off with an unspecified amount of cash despite never having shown a weapon.

The sunglasses-wearing thief passed the teller a note was given the cash and fled just before 4:35 p.m. Friday. He did not show a weapon or pretend to have one, police said.

Witnesses described the robber as a black man standing 6-feet-1, 210-pounds and wearing a black hat and grey overcoat.

On from the Apple Bank at the corner of Eastern Parkway and Albany Avenue.

On June 7, a man was taken into custody after a  on Eastern Parkway at Nostrand avenue.

In February,  two blocks away at Eastern Parkway and Bedford Avenue. An arrest was eventually made in that case, police said.
