Another Gunpoint Mugging Mars Neighborhood
Two young men were held up in the early evening on Monday
Yet another gunpoint mugging occurred in the neighborhood. This time, the scene of the crime took place Monday, Dec. 19, at 5:10 p.m. on the corner of Plaza Street East and Vanderbilt Avenue, according to police reports. Two 19-year-old men said they were approached from behind by two assailants, who put their arms around the victims’ shoulders.
“Don’t fight or make a fuss,” said one of the attackers. “Gimmie what you got or I’ll shoot you.” The victims continued walking this way for one block before the assailants fled. Items stolen included an iPod nano ($75), a Blackberry Bold ($200), Beats by Dr. Dre headphones ($500) and an iPod Touch ($150).
