2 Wanted for Questioning in Sterling Place Murder of Joseph Battle

Police release video in the hope that the public will help them identify man and woman connected to March 13 murder.

Six weeks after 20-year-old Joseph Battle g, police have released video of two people wanted for questioning in connection with the case.

Battle, the choir director at New Paradise Church and a recording engineering student at Touro College’s DMX program, died on March 13 after being shot twice in the chest in the lobby of 709 Sterling Place between Franklin and Bedford avenues, according to police.

Police have been , but they hope the public will be able to identify the couple from the video released tonight (see photo gallery).

Police are looking for a black man in his 20s, who stands about 5-foot-9, with a thin build. The night of the murder he was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. They are also looking for a hispanic woman who, on the night of the murder, was wearing a blue shirt and blue pants.

They are also offering a $2,000 reward to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest in the case.
