Fire on Prospect Place

Two firefighters suffer minor injuries at a fire on the second floor of a four-story row house near Nostrand Avenue.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling a blaze on the second floor of a four-story row house on Prospect Place between Nostrand and New York avenues, an FDNY spokesman said.

There were no other injuries from the fire, which broke out at about 1:40 this afternoon, according to the FDNY.

About 60 firefighters using about 12 trucks fought the flames, which were under control by 2:12 p.m., the spokesman said.

The FDNY does not yet know the cause of the fire. The spokesman could not give details on the injuries suffered by the firefighters, who were taken to Methodist Hospital.
