The Brooklyn Alumnae Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Delta Rho Omega and Psi Lambda Omega, will be hosting an Emerging Young Leaders Youth Summit on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 9am – 5pm. The Summit will be held at Medgar Evers College. The theme for the youth summit is, “Meeting the Challenges of Your Future.” The summit will be a day of workshops and forums with a large focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) for approximately 150 middle school students and their parents. Specialized workshops for the parents in attendance will also be provided, which may be an opportunity for parents to become familiar with the college financial aid process.

The EYL Youth Summit is intended to provide a forum for middle school students, grades 6th-8th grades to equip, excite, and connect young people in our communities around STEM-based subjects and careers. The summit will focus on teaching students effective leadership skills, character building, and STEM core area skills.

The EYL Summit is offered FREE to all registered participants. Parent/Chaperones/Guardians must register each participant. Each registered participant must be a middle school student.  Online registration is available at: www.eylsummit2014forms.weebly.com. All registration forms must be completed no later than February 28, 2014.
