Washington Avenue Improvement Project

The Prospect Heights Street Tree Task Force has accepted the invitation of WAPHA to work with Washington Avenue’s merchants and residents to improve the health, vitality and beauty of Washington Avenue’s street trees.

The Street Tree Task Force is a local volunteer organization committed to the care and maintenance of our neighborhood’s street trees.  Volunteers are desperately needed to clean, aerate, fertilize, mulch, and plant each of the street tree beds on Washington Avenue from Eastern Parkway to Atlantic Avenue.  Citizen pruners are needed to undertake light pruning and to act as team leaders.

We would like to have as many volunteers as possible help with this significant tree care event.  We will need the extra help if we hope to cover Washington Avenue from Eastern Parkway to Atlantic Avenue.  If you have gloves or cultivators bring them along.  We will do our best to ensure that everyone has the tools needed to do the job.  Mark your calendars and join us on June 9th to transform Washington Avenue into a commercial street we all can be proud of.
