Hannah Fairlight + Conrad y Skordalia + The Waysties + Larrama + Flying Dogs of Jupiter @ The Way Station

7pm- Hannah Fairlight
Genre: Alt-Rock/Country/Blues
For fans of:  Patti Smith, Tori Amos, Chris Whitley, The Black Keys, Jack White

Classically-trained pianist-turned-rock-guitarist, Hannah Fairlight channels the poetry and roots-rock of Chris Whitley, with the undaunted tenacity of Tori Amos and Patti Smith. Raised in small towns across the Midwest Fairlight moved to New York City at 18 playing her first solo show at the legendary CBGB before striking up musical homes on Bleecker Street and in the Lower East Side.  Later enlisted by all-girl rock band Girls Don't Cry followed by a tour of duty with seasoned original blues rock band Kolker, the alt-rock songstress struck out on her own again to develop her solo project by touring across Europe, Australia, and the U.S.

Adamantly DIY, Hannah is currently recording and producing a debut EP in Nashville while gigging extensively in the South.  With an honesty and vulnerability that cuts easily through today's pop industry standard, Fairlight's songwriting prowess and commanding stage presence promise audiences an unapologetic, electrically-charged performance paired with a journey of self-reflection.

“She’s stealing our groove.”
–Patrick Carney, drummer The Black Keys

“[Fairlight’s music is] a welcome assault on all emotions.  She will not walk off the stage until she has offered up every last ounce of herself and won over every audience member.  A big ball of energy.  She had me when she carried her own full cabinet Rhodes into the venue.  It’s about time we had a no-gimmicks chick rocker in the mix and Fairlight is it.” –– Mike Jakob, owner Elliott Street Pub, Atlanta, GA

“Everyone in the crowd was buzzing, “Who’s that girl, who’s that girl?  She’s like the female Jack White!” –Sarah Poller, The Earl, Atlanta, GA
“A live set from Hannah Fairlight may be hazardous to your relationship!  Couples beware!” –Crazy Beats music revue, London, UK
“Tenacity is the word that comes to mind watching Hannah Fairlight perform.  You can’t take your eyes off her.  You don’t even wanna blink.” –Terrance Phelps, Bluebird Café Nashville, TN
