About Child's Play NY:
Chosen as the top theater program in NY by Time Out Kids,
Child’s Play NY offers weekly school-year classes, summer intensives and in-school residencies. Young people learn the craft of acting and in doing so, cultivate self-expression and artistry. The jubilant energy of imagination is explored in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Children explore story-telling, song and creative movement in classes for the youngest of thespians. Using their bodies, voices and minds, students re-interpret classic and contemporary children’s literature and are inspired to create their own adventures. Simple props and costumes help them bring their characters to life. Connections are made to the world around them through story and play. Classes encourage creative expression and confidence. The last day of class is open for family and friends.
Jocelyn Greene has been teaching and directing theater with children since 1998. She runs the after-school theater program at Packer Collegiate, Berkeley Carroll, and Avenues the World School in Manhattan. She holds an MFA in Acting from NYU and a BA in English Literature from Wesleyan University.
