Aurical + Sister Lip + All Night Chemists @ The Way Station

8pm- Aurical
Genre: Singer/Songwriter
For fans of: Tori Amos, Billy Joel, Herbie Hancock, Pearl Jam

Founded by musicians Rachel Rossos and Michael Gallant, Aurical is the sort of indie rock band your grandmother would love: honest, polite, well-groomed, and capable of telling a damn good story. Aurical pulls from influences ranging from grunge, modal jazz, and Motown to folk, soul, and French art songs. Their debut album, Something to Say (Gallant Music) was recorded in Berkeley and San Francisco, California and received praise from audiences and critics alike. They currently play and record in New York City, including recent appearances at CMJ Music Marathon and Lincoln Center.

“A rare talent” - The Times of Trenton

“Aurical finds the duo in pop-rock mode, and their cleverness comes through right away.” - M: Music and Musicians

“Things get really interesting on 'Redhead Girl', with a piano style that sounds like a cross between Ben Folds and Tori Amos. The most original and intriguing work on the album, ‘Redhead Girl’ shows Aurical's ability to push the envelope and do it well.” - Wildy’s World

9pm- Sister Lip
Genre: jazzy blues

The ladies of Sister Lip are not ladies that can be easily described. The band’s music is hardly better: if Sister Lip were packaged, it would have a long, long list of ingredients and no preparation instructions. It’s a little bit of jazz; it’s a little bit of blues. It’s one part funk and one part rock with a healthy measure of attitude. It’s a teaspoon of this emotion and a tablespoon of that. Above all else, it’s got a whoooole lotta soul dolloped right on the top, and the package is sealed with a big red kiss.

10pm- All Night Chemists
Genre: Rock

A band that writes and records a musical potion of hypnotic sounds, unforgettable melodies, deep grooves, and intricate arrangements under the BQE in north Brooklyn...Brad Gunyon, Len Monachello, and Brandon Wilde are All Night Chemists. Currently releasing two songs a month the trio continues to mix from song to song, both live and on record, with a variety of their fellow musicians. The result are shows and recordings that are truly their own. All Night Chemists' songs have been featured in the television shows Castle, Mercy, Men in Trees, Life is Wild, and Reaper. The song "Point of View" was featured in the 2007 film "Ornaments."

“The Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist has a mellow, reflective voice that speaks to experience and a way with instrumentation that, as they say, goes easy on the ears.” 3hive
