Every week we will give you the lowdown on kids events in Prospect Heights as well a selection from Crown Heights, Park Slope, Fort Greene and Boerum Hill.

Monday, June 27

Story Hour A weekly story hour for preschoolers with storyteller Tom Stamp. Tom will read from his favorite picture books, play some tunes on his guitar, and lead fingerplays to get everyone singing and playing along. , 315 4th Ave at 3rd St., 10-11 a.m., $5/family.

 Sing-along with Rollie Pollie Guacamolie. This one (as opposed to Tuesday's), takes place in the garden when weather permits. Call first to make sure it's happening at 718-788-2830.  , 365 5th Ave (between 5th and 6th St), 3:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m., $5 per family.

Prospect Park Carousel Prospect Park's legendary Carousel is fun for both kids and adults.Prospect Park, Children’s Corner (just inside the Willink entrance to the Park, at Ocean and Flatbush Avenues and Empire Boulevard), 12-5 p.m., all ages, $2/ride ($9/book of 5 tickets).

Kids Sing-Along Join Ivan for this “drum-along” event. , 365 5th Ave (between 5th and 6th St), 10-11 a.m., $5 per family.

Prospect Park Carousel Prospect Park's legendary Carousel is fun for both kids and adults. Prospect Park, Children’s Corner (just inside the Willink entrance to the Park, at Ocean and Flatbush Avenues and Empire Boulevard), 12-5 p.m., all ages, $2/ride ($9/book of 5 tickets).

 Beginner and advanced players are invited to play together. , Youth Wing - Teen Reading Room, 4-5 p.m., Teens, Free. 

 Toddlers can learn at least nine words a day! Help your child grow by introducing them to stories, songs and rhymes. At toddler time, read great picture books aloud, discover exciting finger plays, and play with other children during this special time dedicated to toddlers. , Youth Wing - Teen Reading Room, 10:30 a.m and 11:30 a.m., 18 mo-3 yrs, Free.

The Thinkers Present: Oh Zooty The treasure chest of songs from Oh Zooty is intended to make all people, small and tall, feel giggly and warm. Macy's Fishing Clinics This exciting  program offers kids quality fishing instruction. Ezra Jack Keats Story Hour Gather around Peter and Willy, the statue of two beloved Keats characters, for storytelling adventures. Imagination Playground at Prospect Park (enter at the Lincoln Road/Ocean Ave. entrance to Prospect Park), 2-3 p.m., all ages, Free.

Sunday, July 3

Freedom Strut On July 4th, 1827, slavery was abolished in New York. For many years this event was marked with annual celebrations. Revive this tradition by listening to stories of the struggle for African-American freedom, making your own Emancipation Day button, and strutting proudly in celebration as they did back then. Lefferts Historic House at Prospect Park, 1-4 p.m., all ages, Free.
