Week in Review

A look back at the stories and opinions that defined our neighborhood this week.

We had another exciting week here at Prospect Heights Patch. We reported on the quickly approaching general election, kept up with our local high school sports teams and introduced a couple of new columns.

Last Saturday the Prospect Heights Democrats for Reform hosted a demonstration of New York's new electronic voting machines, and we stopped by to make sure everyone in the neighborhood knows how to cast their ballot properly.

We reported on Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Cuomo's Downtown Brooklyn Rally, which featured former President Bill Clinton, and spoke with some of Prospect Heights' elected officials about the Democrats' chances on Tuesday. And, in our newest feature, we asked 52nd Assembly District Leader Chris Owens five questions about some issues that directly affect this community.

We checked in with the Prospect Heights Campus boys soccer team, which had an impressive 13-1 regular season, as they prepared for this weekend's playoff opener.  And we met Clara Barton junior Taliah Moore, who continues to battle even as the Panthers volleyball team struggles.

Prospect Heights Patch was also proud to unveil to new columns this week. The first was "" in which each week we'll feature a new cat and dog at Sean Casey Animal Rescue that need a home. We also introduced "" a new roundup in which we'll be linking to some a few must read stories on our favorite local blogs.
