Summer Camp Spotlight: Jewish Summer Camp Open House and Programs at Kensington Stables

Yes, it's freezing, but it's never too soon to start planning for summer.

Summer may be months away, but now is the time to start thinking about where to send your wee ones to summer camp.

For some faith-based fun, a Jewish Summer Camp open house will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Congregation Beth Elohim in Park Slope.  Flatbush Jewish Center, Temple Beth Elohim, Park Slope Jewish Center, the Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace will all be in attendance.

At Kensington Stables, young equestrians will learn not only how to ride, but also to care for horses. This will give them a sense of how much work is involved in their maintenance, and why keeping one on the front stoop is probably not a viable idea.

The stables offer two programs: The Pony Club caters to riders 6 to 11-years-old, while the Summer Intensive is for riders 12 to 21-years-old. Those who register by Feb. 28 will receive a $50 discount.
