Report Reveals Barclays Center Slightly Behind Schedule

Between September and November, Atlantic Yards construction was behind schedule, and now the completion of the arena has been pushed back a week, to Aug 30.

While Forest City Ratner doesn’t believe that their will affect the construction time of the Barclays Center, new data shows that construction has been behind schedule for three months, according to Atlantic Yards Report.

AYR says that the completion date of the arena has now been pushed back a week, to August 30, 2012, with site work like landscaping, tree planting and sidewalk installation pushed back a month to September 25, 2012. The blog says that’s just three days before an opening night show at the arena.

The back in April, with Nets CEO Brett Yormark promising a week of public events before the Nets begin the 2012-2013 NBA season at the arena.

AYR cites mixed statements on documents from Merritt & Harris, real estate consultant to the arena PILOT Bond Trustee, which say that: “Based on our Construction Progress Chart, which compares the cash flow amount to the projected construction progress, the Project is currently on schedule,” though their accompanying graphs show a lag between September and November. The blog says that this report is the first time that Merritt & Harris has revealed any delays in the timeline.
