MTA Unclear on When Service Will Resume
Currently assessing damages and making repairs
Even though the rain has stopped, MTA service will continue to do the same.
According to the MTA website, all bus, subway, LIRR and Metro-North service is still suspended and there is no indication as to when it will resume.
"Restoration of service will be implemented as quickly as possible without compromising the safety of our customers, employees or equipment, but it is expected to be a lengthy process that will begin with damage assessment and could include significant repairs," wrote the MTA in a statement on their website.

Although passenger service has been suspended, track cars and equipment trains might still operate on the tracks before the MTA announces that service has been restored.
The National Guard is helping with the recovery efforts per Governor Cuomo's request and helicopters are also being used to assess the damage.
