Citi Bike Share Launches App

What would a high-tech bike-share program be without an app to go with it?

In advance on Monday's launch of NYC's Citi Bike Share program, the DOT announced the Citi Bike app.

The program will help members find nearby docking stations and let them know how many bikes are available at each. In addition, it will use Google Maps to lead riders to the area's most bike-friendly bike routes and has a timer to let members know when the free period is nearly up.

The app will roll out more features this summer including an interactive map that offers riders information on restaurants, landmarks, bike shops and other features near where they're riding. It will also include locations of Citibanks (whoop!).

Citi Bike app is free and available on both Apple and Android versions.
