5 Things You Need to Know Today: Subway Changes, Winter Waterfowl Tour, African Folktales, More

Prospect Heights information and events you won't want to miss.

1. You need to get out of the house. Head to Prospect Park for . Meet at Wollman Rink, Parking Lot and East Drive, Saturday, 10 a.m. Free.

2. You need to get the kids out of the house. Head to the Brooklyn Public Library, Central Branch, for two events,  at 1 p.m. and  at 3 p.m.  Free.

3. You need to get the kids out of the house all summer. Luckily there's a  today, from 1:00pm to 2:30pm at 339 8th St.

4. You need a night out. Head to the , 837 Union St., to hear jazz vocalist Margret Grebowicz combine pop, samba, Brazilian and electronica beginning at 9 p.m. followed by Dawnie and The White Knuckle Riders for soulful singing and smart pop from 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. No cover.

5. You need to get where you're going, fast. If you're planning to take the 2 or 4 train this weekend, you're out of luck. Manhattan-bound trains will be bypassing Bergen, Grand Army Plaza and Eastern Parkway all weekend.
