5 Things You Need to Know Today: Ride for PPW Bike Lanes, Sarah Vowell, Kids Clothing Swap, More

Prospect Heights information and events you won't want to miss.

1. You need to take a stand on the Prospect Park West bike lanes. If you're in favor of keeping them, head to Grand Army Plaza  for . There will be free t-shirts beginning at 10:30 a.m. The ride starts at 11 a.m. (or you can walk the route). At the other end, the Bartel-Pritchard entrance of Prospect Park at 15th Street there will be free hot dogs from Bark and cupcakes from Blue Sky Bakery.

2. You need to get to the park. How about spending the morning learning about Prospect Park's edible plants at ? 9:45am–12:00pm. $18. (advance registration required, see link.)

4. You need to get the kids (and their old stuff) out of the house. Head to the , 145 Brooklyn Ave. (bet. St. Marks and Prospect Place) today for such programs as . 5. You need to know if your train is running, and if you have to move your car. The Q train is running during the day this weekend. But it's not running north of Atlantic between 12:15 a.m. and 5 a.m. Monday. Switch at Atlantic from the Q to the N to continue your trip, according to the MTA. Car owners: you'll be moving your car until Passover, April 19 and 20, when alternate side is next suspended, according to the NYC DOT.
