5 Things You Need to Know Today: Late Night Q Problems Continue, Free Jazz, Artist Talk, More

Prospect Heights events and information you won't want to miss.

1. You need to use your brain. The  is having an . 7 p.m. Free.

2. You need to find out what's going on with your community. Luckily, tonight is . Hebron Seventh Day Adventist Church 1256 Dean Street at New York Ave. 7 p.m.

3. You need a night out. Head to , 837 Union St. in Park Slope to hear . This new jazz ensemble features alums from the New England Conservatory in Boston. The New York Times described their October show at the Brooklyn Lyceum as "fine examples of standard form gone just slightly haywire." 9:00pm–11:30pm. No cover.

5. You need to know if your train is running, and if you have to move your car. If you take the Q train late at night you should know that from midnight to 5 a.m., all week, it's not pretty. They're doing that thing where you have to switch Q trains from the Pacific Street N platform to the Atlantic Avenue Q platform and then trains only run every 30 minutes, according to the MTA website (which has a schedule of train departures.) It is probably faster to walk or take the 2 or 4 to and from Atlantic if you can. Note that the  continues March 12-13 and 19-20. Alternate side is in effect today. It's suspended March 20, for Purim, but that's a Sunday and therefore of no help. The next helpful suspension isn't until Passover on April 19 and 20, according to the NYC DOT.
