5 Things You Need to Know Today: Late Night Q and 2 Train Troubles, Open Mic, Big Band Music, More

2. You need big band music. Head to , 837 Union St. at 7th Ave, to hear jazz and classical trombonist JC Sanfordand his his large ensemble for a big band concert at the Tea Lounge. 9 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. No cover.
3. You need to mingle with other civic minded Brooklynites ... plus free drinks never hurt. Tonight's your night because the civic magazine City Limits, is having a release party and mixer for it's "Defining Brooklyn," issue. There will be free wine, cocktails, and food and entertainment. 5. You need to know if your train is running, and if you have to move your car. Taking the train between midnight and 5 a.m. is going to be unpleasant on both the 2 and the Q train tonight. Between midnight and 5 a.m. weekdays through April 15, the Q train is going to drop you at the N platform at Pacific, make you walk to the Q platform at Atlantic, then have you wait up to 30 minutes to catch the connecting train. The MTA is doing the same thing with the No. 2 train tonight and tomorrow night (or technically Tuesday and Wednesday mornings), with the change taking place at Chambers Street, according to the MTA.
