5 Things You Need to Know Today: Alternate Side Holiday, Q Changes, Community Seder, Cheap Comedy, More

Prospect Heights information and events you won't want to miss.

1. You need a good story. Head to for   its storytelling night from 8:00pm–10:00pm.

2. You need to go to a seder. You thought you wouldn't care about having no place to go this year, but you're finding you do. Luckily there are two Community Passover Seders in the hood, one by and the other by (and yes, it's different) . Either will cost you $40, $18 for children, or whatever you can afford. You must RSVP well before sundown today though. 

3. You need a laugh (or two). Head to , 702 Union St. at Fifth Avenue for , a monthly comedy show hosted by Streeter Seidell and Amanda Baramki. This month Nate Bargatze (Comedy Central Presents, CMT), Jared Logan (Last Comic Standing, ECNY Nominee), Nick Vatterott (Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Just For Laughs) and Adrienne Iapalucci (Last Comic Standing, ECNY Nominee). 9:30pm. $5.

4. You need to get the kids out of the house. Thanks to spring break at the public schools there are a . One that looked particularly seasonal is , where kids can plant their own herb gardens to take home using newspaper, soil, and seeds. Lefferts Historic House at Flatbush and Ocean Avenues, 1-4 p.m., all ages, Free.

5. You need to know if your train is running, and if you have to move your car. The late-night horror continues on the Q-train. Between about midnight and 5 a.m. your train stops at Atlantic or Pacific (depending on your direction). There you have to walk through the station to the opposite end and wait for your connecting train. This continues all week, according to the MTA. Alternate side is blessedly suspended through April 26 thanks to Passover, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter, according to the NYC DOT.
