5 Things: Folk-Down, Gingerbread Ships and Indie Gypsy Rock

Prospect Heights area information and events you won't want to miss.

 

1. Get Folked. If folk music is your thing, head to Go Folk Yourself: Holiday Themed Folk-Down at LaunchPad. 721 Franklin Ave. bet. Park and Sterling. 8 p.m. $5.

2. Get Rocked. For the indie rock crowd, head to The Way Station for Koshka, which plays "garage rock with a gypsy itch," according to the Way Station. 683 Washington Ave. bet. St. Marks and Prospect. 10 p.m. No cover.

3. Get Gingerbread Ships! Bring the kids over to Fort Greene for a workshop with renowned model shipwright, Dan Pariser, and the bakers from Le Petit Bakery where they will make their very own Gingerbread ships.  

4. Get culture. The Irondale Ensemble will present Julius Caesar this weekend at 85 S Oxford St. $25.

5. Get a good parking spot. Alternate side parking rules are in effect today. The next suspension isn't until Christmas day, sorry!
