5 Things: School Bus Strike Info and Botanic Garden's Winter Festival

Prospect Heights-area events and information you won't want to miss.

1. It's official: The school bus strike will begin on Wednesday morning. Click here to review the city's plan for helping those affected get to school.

2. On Saturday, Jan. 26, head to LARK Cafe to learn CPR with Ron Piretti, who has taught CPR for over 10 years and is certified by the American Heart Association. The class will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. and costs $45. RSVP to kari@larkcafe.com by Jan. 23. While the instructor is certified, note that this is a non-certified course.

3. Brooklyn Public Library is sporting a new logo! Check it out on the library's homepage, and take a look back at some past logos here. How do you think the new one stacks up?

4. Head to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden on Saturday, Jan. 26 for "Illumination Celebration," a one day winter festival featuring such events as a hand-stand workshop for grown-ups, lantern-making for families and a moonlight lantern walk with giant puppets and stilt dancers.
