The Washington Avenue tea and flower shop that closed earlier this month is back in business.
Chrysanthemum Rare Tea and Flowers as a partnership between Ken Lo, who owns a Kung Fu studio, his wife, Angel Chan, a real estate broker and floral designer Sarah Lineberger. Lineberger did the flowers, social media and marketing, while Lo sold rare teas and taught classes on the art of tea ceremony.
But tensions between the partners grew and the shop shut down Jan. 8.
Last week, Lo and Chan reopened with new floral designers. Chan, who is currently managing the store, said she plans to expand the offerings to make flowers available at more price points.
"When we started we didn’t think about what people can afford, but now I know what people can afford," she said. "If someone has $10, we'll make them something for $10."
The tea ceremony classes are still available by appointment.
Other offerings in the works are homemade chocolate for Valentine's Day and locally made ice cream in the summer.
