Cork Delayed, But There's a Steal on Suits on Vanderbilt

Owner of the planned tapas/wine bar is still awaiting licenses, but meanwhile you can get a new jacket for $29.99.

For those of you wondering what's going on with Cork, , never fear, it's still in the works.

Greg Trautman, owner of  across the street, took over 659 Vanderbilt Ave., bet. Prospect and Park places, after The Forest Floor closed.

But the restaurant, which will seat about 30 and serve "high end" food, is delayed while Trautman waits for a liquor license and other approvals, according to Robert Wissenbach, Plan B's manager.

Meanwhile, Trautman has sublet the space to his friend, John Rooney, a professional liquidator who is selling sports coats by such brands as Bill Blass, Haspel and Stanley Blacker at $29.99 a piece. But wait, there's more: they're 100% wool and if you buy two you get one free. (I know the headline said suits, but "sports jackets" was just too many letters.)

So while the wine bar is not expected to open until at least mid-winter, at least you'll have a nice new jacket when you finally arrive.
