Best Thing We Ate This Week: Peach Pizza at Ortine
Organic peaches from Lancaster, PA give this savory pizza a sweet finish
It's Labor Day weekend, which means summer is (sadly) coming to a close. In my efforts to get in a last bite of all my favorite summer foods, the Peach Pizza at Ortine was a standout.
Although the peaches (organic ones from the Lancaster Farm Fresh Co-op in Pennsylvania) give the pizza a hint of sweetness, the dish on the whole is savory. Tangy goat cheese and chopped almonds make for great balance, and the light sprinkling of parmesan cheese and herbs from the garden out back are great, fresh touches. I had this for dinner, but it would also be great for brunch.
