Washington Avenue cleanup day, rally for Interfaith Medical Medical Center, more

In response to complaints about the cleanliness of Washington Avenue, the Washington Avenue-Prospect Heights Association is asking for volunteers to join a cleanup effort starting this Saturday at 1130AM. Some supplies will be provided, but participants are urged to bring their own. Meet at the Lowry Triangle (where Pacific, Underhill, and Washington meet).

This committee meets to discuss transportation issues on Thursday, March 29th at 250 Baltic Street at 7:00.

Rally for Interfaith Medical Center Rally all day long on March 29th in support of keeping the Interfaith Medical Center open, and improving it. Meet at 1545 Atlantic Avenue between Troy and Albany Ave. For more information call 718-600-4292 or 917-972-3924.

The simmering feud between bikers and pedestrians in Prospect Park will be discussed at this meeting with City Councilmembers Tish James and Steve Levin. The workshop will be held Sunday, March 31st, at the YWCA on 3rd Avenue and Atlantic. Due to limited space, participants must register by email with bsherman@council.nyc.gov.

Project Safe Surrender This travelling courtroom, complete with a judge and defense attorneys, makes its way to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church on Tompkins Avenue on April 7th from 9AM to 3PM. If you have an outstanding summons warrant, you might be able to get it cleared up. For a list of the offenses that can be addressed, go to the project's website at www.projectsafesurrender2011.org.

Community Board 8 Housing Committee Meeting This month, the committee will be discussing the city's proposal to downzone the Crow Hill neighborhood. April 5th, 6:30pm, 727 Classon Avenue.
